A lonely puppy left in a Walmart parking lot can’t stop hugging the people who saved him

Clarence, an abandoned golden retriever mix puppy, sought refuge in a Walmart parking lot in rural Georgia after his owners abandoned him.

He also met two other dogs that had been abandoned, a German shepherd and a Chihuahua-mix. Clarence and his German shepherd companion were eventually apprehended by animal control.

Clarence’s owner was notified of his existence, but they declined to come and retrieve him. As a result, the tiny puppy was put on the euthanasia list, and he would have died if it hadn’t been for Hounds In Pounds’ intervention.

They apparently intervened just in time to save Clarence and the German shepherd, and began searching for a loving home for them.

Despite the heartbreaks that people caused Clarence, he never harbored a grudge against them. Instead, he’s a sweet dog who lives by the golden rule, which states that you should treat others the way you want to be treated.

The adorable 4-year-old puppy enjoys giving hugs to everyone he meets and, heartbreakingly, keeps clinging to his caregivers in the hopes that they will never abandon him.

Hounds In Pounds posted a picture of the fluffy boy on their Facebook page in the hopes of finding him a forever home.

“He is sweet, gentle and so grateful to be safe with us. We can’t help but get lost in Clarence’s golden coat, it reminds us of sunshine and so does his personality. He is bright, warm and brings light to those who know him,”it was written.

They went on to say how well the lovely doggie gets along with everyone he meets, including cats, children, and other dogs. Cat Suzuki of the Hounds In Pounds said, “He is an angel – literally.”

“He just wants to be by your side. This dog is a mush,”she told The Dodo about it. Clarence will continue his journey from Georgia to New Jersey in a few days to find his forever home.

While he does so, his rescuers are confident that the affable, easygoing dog will fit in with any household and provide them a lot of joy. They also stated that adopting him would be a blessing.

“He would do great in a home with people who are around more than not, since he attaches quickly,” Suzuki added. “He’s fairly lazy, so a movie bud or snuggle partner is ideal.”

Clarence is looking forward to finally receiving a hug from his forever human. Unlike his owner, PetSmart Charities supports local groups that work to improve the lives of pets via adoption, improved veterinary care, and disaster assistance. You can also give to assist them improve their life.
