A Pizza Shop Put Shelter Dogs On Pizza Boxes To Help Them Get Adopted

Must Read

In the United States, over 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized each year because shelters are overcrowded and there aren’t enough adoptive homes.

Furthermore, many individuals prefer to purchase pets rather than adopting them from shelters.

As a result, animal rescue organizations are frequently forced to go outside the box in order to help needy animals find their forever homes.

The Niagara SPCA in New York recently partnered with the Just Pizza & Wing Co. business in Amherst in an attempt to gain public notice and help their animals find homes.

Kimberly LaRussa, an event coordinator for the SPCA, and Mary Alloy, the owner of Just Pizza & Wing, began brainstorming ways to support the canines in need.

They came up with a brilliant and fantastic idea together. They decided to place adoptable dog leaflets on pizza delivery boxes in the hopes of finding the pups their permanent homes.

Customers who buy pizza will receive an exceptionally lovely surprise to satiate their appetites while also aiding a neighborhood group. What’s the best part?

A $50 gift certificate to the pizza business will be given to anyone who adopts one of the shelter pups pictured on the pizza box fliers.

The touching campaign went viral instantly and was a huge success. Many individuals in the neighborhood were enthusiastic about the idea and thought it was fantastic.

Larry, a six-month-old puppy, found a new home on the first day after it was introduced. Many potential owners were also interested in the other pets. We hope they are as fortunate as Larry!

“We’ve had a tremendous amount of interest and support from the community and beyond since the story went viral on Friday,” Kimberly said.

“Many people want to order a pizza just to get the shelter dog photo, other pizzerias have offered to put flyers on their pizza boxes, and so many people are tagging their friends and family.”

The pizza restaurant and the shelter were both lauded for their inventiveness. Mary stated that the pizza restaurant would continue to work “for as long as it takes” to find homes for all of the animals in the shelter.

Mary’s shop, according to Kimberly, will be adding adoptable cats to its list of adoption fliers in the future.

If you think this is a fantastic idea, please tell everyone you know about it! We hope that many shelters and groups will adopt this concept in order to assist every shelter pet in finding their permanent home.
