After paying £570 for a cosmetic treatment that scorched the skin near her lips, a woman was told she looks like “Homer Simpson.”
Jade, a TikTok star, underwent a ‘lip flip,’ which entails lightly burning the skin and then healing it to modify the shape of the face subtly.
The brown marks were highly noticeable after the surgery, and when she published a video of the results on social media, everyone remarked the same thing.
One person dubbed the therapy as “Homer Simpsonfication” because the healing burn marks around her mouth mimic the cartoon character’s distinctive beard.
“This is my video explaining what the hell is on my face because when I do tell them, they don’t know what I’m talking about. So this is me killing all of those questions in one video.” Jade said on TikTok, where she goes by the handle @thatgirljadee.
“What this is, is these are all little dots, little burns – it burns your flesh, I could smell it.”
“Basically, what it’s going to do, is when it heals, it’s going to tighten my skin and flip my lip upwards, making my lips appear bigger, because they will be bigger.”
“It’s a lip flip basically. They do the same thing with a breast lift and crow’s feet.”

Jade said her therapy cost £570 ($750) and that the burn marks will fade in a few weeks.

On TikTok, her video has over 1.4 million views, and many people have commented on it and stated the same thing.
