Officer shows up to routine call, ends up falling in love with tiny puppy

Must Read

When this Florida cop responded to a routine call, he had no idea he’d wind up with a new best buddy. The affectionate officer, on the other hand, fell in love with the lovely puppy he saw at first sight.

It was enough to take him into his arms for a few moments and never let him go. They’ve become inseparable!

Officer Marcus Montgomery of the Fort Walton Beach Police Department was summoned to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) — a local shelter – to deal with a situation involving the center and a former employee. But he had no idea that by the end of the day, he’d made a new furry companion.

“We spoke for about 20 minutes and I was wrapping up my investigation,” the officer explained BuzzFeed.

“One of the supervisors left, and while I was still speaking to the director of PAWS, the supervisor came back in with this little puppy in her hands. You could tell he’d been sleeping because his eyes were heavy and he was yawning constantly.”

Officer Montgomery couldn’t help but fall in love with the lovely little thing as soon as he met him, especially after learning about his tragic tale.

The puppy was apparently placed in a box on the shelter’s doorsteps overnight, and an employee discovered him the next morning.

Officer Montgomery knew he wouldn’t leave empty-handed after embracing him for a few moments, so he adopted Kylo – as he ultimately named him – right away.

“When the supervisor brought him in, I just looked in his eyes as he yawned at me, and I told the supervisor, ‘Don’t bring him in here, because I will take him home right now,’” Montgomery added.

Not only officer Montgomery, but everyone, even his other dog Vader, fell in love with the adorable Kylo once he brought him home.

“Me and my girlfriend have wanted another dog for so long because Vader, our other rescue, loves meeting other dogs and playing with them,” he explained.

“Unfortunately, we knew Kylo, even at his age, people would just look past him and not want to deal with the responsibility that comes with a dog like him.”
