George the dog’s greatest friend, a labrador named Blackie, died two years ago.
For the past twelve years, they’d been best friends. They loved each other, played together, and lived together.
George’s owner, Jacquie Litton, said George was stricken with grief when Blackie died.
He went into a deep depression and refused to play or run around as he used to.
But then a duck appeared a few weeks ago. After that, everything changed.

One day, the duck appeared unexpectedly on Jacquie’s porch and waddled over to George.

They had an instant connection.
‘We have no idea where this duck came from but he sure does love George and since the duck has arrived George has not cried one time,’ Jacquie posted on Facebook.

George and the duck are now inseparable, going for walks together, sleeping in the kennel next to each other, and spending quiet time together when George needs to recuperate.

Jacquie even plans to replace the house’s bird bath with a genuine tub so that the duck may settle in and consider it a permanent home.
‘Since the duck has showed up, he’s been fine,’ Jacquie told WKWOW.

‘He’s not wanted in the house. He’s not whined. He’s not meeting you at the car, ya know, looking sad.
‘They’re totally different species, and they’ve found company and comfort in each other.’
